Vehicle safety
To provide passenger peace of mind our entire fleet is fitted with alco-lock units. These require our drivers to blow a clear sample of breath into an analyser machine before the vehicle will start. We have a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
In addition, all of our vehicles are fitted with seatbelts and the very latest driver telematics system which allows us to monitor driver behaviour and alerts us to any unsafe driver manoeuvres. Real-time data captured every time one of our coaches is driven is used as part of our ongoing Driver Development Programme – which aims to improve driving standards and reduce accident risk.
Each vehicle undergoes rigorous and regular safety inspections, including a “first use” inspection every morning before departure. To further enhance the safety of our coaches all of our vehicles are fitted with CCTV and tracking devices, making sure no stone is unturned. All of our drivers are trained in the technique of defensive driving. Risk assessments are prepared and reviewed throughout our business for all aspects of our work. Comprehensive safe working practices are also devised and communicated throughout the team.

End of year school trip prize terms & conditions
- The promoter of this Offer is National Express Transport Solutions, The Travel Centre, Eastcourt Lane, Gillingham Kent ME8 6HW (the “Promoter”)
- “school” shall mean any primary school or secondary school in the UK.
- This prize entitles the winning School to 35 pupils’ entry tickets plus up to 7 teachers for primary schools and 3 teachers for secondary schools to the closest merlin attraction to the school (Chessington, Thorpe Park, Alton Towers or Legoland) and a 49 seater coach. Any additional pupils or teachers will be charged at a standard rate.
- The end date of the prize draw is 23:59 on 31st October 2021. The winner will be drawn at random on 1st November 2021 and contact within 5 working days. The winning school will be granted 14 working days to confirm prize acceptance. If acceptance is not received a new winner will be selected at random the following working day.
- This end of year school trip must be booked before 1st June 2022. Please note that Merlin attractions have peak times exclusive for schools, your trip may have to follow the attractions timetable.
- All travel is subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw, amend or replace the prize without prior notification.
- If the Promoter reasonably believes that any action is being made unlawfully or illegally, they may reject or cancel any purchase and you agree that you will have no claim against the Promoter in respect of any rejection or cancellation.
- Schools are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon participating in the prize draw
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and any dispute relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
